Introducing Native Language Support Enabled Web Push Notifications

With Native Language Support, marketers can push web notifications in as many as 10 native languages.

Adoption and use of regional content is critical to drive the internet adoption in India. It is believed that the next 100-200 Mn online users will not be the one’s who speak English. For a country with a 76% literacy rate, only 10% are literate in the English language – remaining 66% are literate in their native language.

As per IMAI-BCG report, 29 per cent of Internet users lived in rural areas; in 2018 approximately half the users will reside in smaller towns and villages and will access the Internet not in English but through local languages.

Hindi content alone, has grown by 94% as compared to English content which grew at 17%. Regional Content creation will drive the next wave of Internet Adoption. We at iZooto, have been working with some of the leading content producing networks in the country including the likes of India.com and we understand such an ecosystem needs to be supplemented with appropriate tools for marketers to engage these first time users effectively.

We strongly believe that the right channels will be equally critical to disburse and ensure discovery of this regional content. Keeping the same in mind, we at iZooto are introducing native language support for Push Notifications.

Native Language Notification Support essentially means that starting 12th April, you will be able to send notifications to users in 3 Global Languages ( Russian, Arabic, Chinese ) and 10 regional languages including Hindi, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Gujarati.

While this is one of the many features that are being released starting this Tuesday, we are excited about it because this now facilitates the flow of regional content. Democratizing user engagement remains our top priority and this is our first step towards that. Here is a glimpse of notifications with Native Language Support.
